Of all iRocker paddleboards, the Cruiser is probably the most liked one by paddlers. And it is easy to see why.

The iSUP claims to be great for all skill levels and all conditions. SUPers can use it for any SUP variation including fishing, yoga, and cruising. On top of all that, it has a high weight capacity and can hold more than one paddler.

All these qualities make it sound likeone of the best paddle boards on the market; but is it? That is the question we will be answering in this iRocker Cruiser review.

Who Makes the iRocker Cruiser?

You may have already heard of iRocker SUP. What you know as a popular company started as an idea between two friends. They wanted to offer paddlers something better. They believed that they could make the best inflatable paddleboards, and so they did. They claim to use the highest quality materials to create SUPs that can handle anything. And their customer service, from experience, is exceptional.

Who Should Buy This SUP Board?

The iRocker Cruiser is suitable for families, beginners, heavier paddlers, and SUPers who enjoy yoga, fishing, and relaxed cruising.

The Cruiser can hold an adult and another adult, child, or dog. Family paddleboards should have a high weight capacity and be stable enough for more than one person. Parent SUPers may want to introduce their kids to the activity while they’re still young. Others don’t like to leave their pups behind. And sometimes, it is fun to have another adult on board so you can take turns paddling. SUP is awesome, but it is even more enjoyable when you share the experience with your loved ones. If you want a paddleboard that will help you create memories with your family, you will love the Cruiser.

irocker cruiser

The shape and size of the iRocker Cruiser make it good for beginners. With a length of 10’6 and a width of 33 inches, newbie SUPers can easily control it and it is stable. Standing up on a SUP may seem simple but it requires a lot of effort and strength. With a wider SUP, you learn faster and that means less falling in. It will also be less frustrating for you.

Paddlers on the bigger side will like the iRocker Cruiser inflatable SUP. Not only is it wide and stable, but it also has a high weight capacity. Usually, single rider boards have a weight limit of about 300 pounds. If you weigh 200+ pounds, have a dog, and want to bring gear, that can be disappointing. The iRocker has a weight limit of 400 pounds. You are free to bring whatever and whoever you want. Just make sure you fully inflate it. Moreover, it is made using quality construction and materials. It will not flex.

Lastly, the Cruiser is a fantastic board for SUPers who love spending time on the water doing yoga, fishing, or cruising leisurely. If you have done yoga on land, then you know that some poses can be challenging. And when it comes to SUP yoga poses, stability is crucial. A narrow SUP will have you in the water every time you try a pose. The 33-inch width of the Cruiser is just right.

For fishing, it comes with all these mounts and attachment points, as you will see below. You can go angling without having to do any additional DIY work on your board.

Performance

a. Stability

The iRocker Cruiser inflatable paddleboard is very stable. It is not tippy or wobbly at all.

Generally, any paddleboard with a width of 30 inches or more will be stable. The Cruiser is perfect because it is just wide enough—not too much that paddling becomes an issue. It is also not short and this gives you a large, stable platform for all your activities.

This paddle board has a thickness of six inches. A paddleboard’s thickness affects its rigidity and buoyancy. More often than not, thin SUPs are less rigid. They have a lower volume and this means a lower weight capacity. When bigger paddlers get on them, the boards flex making the ride unstable. Thinner boards are also likely to sink instead of riding above the water.

The other thing that will affect your paddleboard’s stability is the construction quality. You want a paddleboard that is solid when inflated. Otherwise, you will have the flexing issue which is not good for stability. You have heard people say that some iSUPs are as stiff as hard SUPs. The iRocker Cruiser is one of those paddleboards. It features impeccably tough construction. That is why it can easily hold 400 pounds.

b. Maneuverability

The iRocker Cruiser handles well in every situation. The 25-pound weight makes it light and easy to control, even for youth and small paddlers.

A board’s length has a big part to play when it comes to its maneuverability. Longer paddleboards are harder to handle, especially if you are on the smaller side. It gets even harder when you have to make sharp turns. This will not be a problem with the Cruiser. It is of medium length and width—suitable for paddlers of all sizes.

c. Tracking

A paddleboard that tracks well is one that moves in a straight line. It maintains the course. As you can imagine, this is important if you ever want to get anywhere.

The iRocker Cruiser comes with three fins. When you push back water with your paddle, that pressure can swing the tail to the side. The rest of the board will follow and you will start rotating. Fins ensure that the tail stays in line, enabling your paddleboard to move straight.

d. Speed

The Cruiser’s speed is satisfactory. Longer and narrower paddleboards are usually faster because of the streamlined shape. But they are also less stable. Very wide SUPs may be stable but the speed will be disappointing.

The iRocker Cruiser is somewhere in the middle. So you get decent speed and stability. This is what makes it an amazing all-around inflatable paddleboard.

Build Quality

There are many outstanding things about iRocker paddleboards. One of them is the build quality.

The Cruiser is built using a triple-layer composite PVC construction. This high-strength material is the one commonly used in making inflatable boards. But the Cruiser stands out because the manufacturer has used three layers. What is more impressive is the fact that the paddleboard is lightweight. Typically, more PVC layers make an iSUP heavier.

A well-made board will serve you for a long time. Inflatable paddleboards have made it possible for paddlers to travel to different countries and continents, looking for spots to explore. So every SUPer should have at least one iSUP that can withstand heavy use, like the Cruiser. It comes with a two-year warranty. You can go wherever you like with this paddleboard and be as adventurous as you want.

Tougher boards are extremely stiff when inflated. You cannot tell that the iRocker Cruiser is an inflatable board when paddling. It will be as hard as a solid SUP. Even with two paddlers on board, it does not bend.

Design

Like all the other iRocker paddle boards, the Cruiser underwent some upgrades in 2020. It now comes in six color options including seafoam green, green, and orange. They all look beautiful. The fins are white.

The paddleboard has a wide tail and its nose is pointed.

Board Features

1. Fins

irocker cruiser sup

The iRocker Cruiser features a three-fin system. There are two side fins and one central fin. All of them are removable. I like this because when you deflate and roll up your iSUP, it will fold neatly and more compact.

You can also choose to change the fin setup. You may decide to go paddling with the center fin only and leave the side fins. Or you can use all three fins when surfing waves. They help with maneuverability and stability.

They are flip-lock fins. Attaching and detaching has never been easier.

2. Deck Pad

The Cruiser deck pad is large and extra comfy. The All Around has a much larger one that extends to the inflation valve. They didn’t make this upgrade for the Cruiser. But it is not a reason to complain. The EVO pad on the Cruiser is still a good size even for yoga. It is logo-stamped.

3. Handles

The paddle board comes with three grab handles: at the front, rear, and center. The neoprene center handle is more comfortable than the other two. This makes sense since many paddlers carry their iSUPs solo.

There are four safety handles, two at the front and two at the back. These come in handy when you have a child on board. They can hold on to them.

4. D-Rings and Action Mounts

This iRocker inflatable paddleboard has a total of 20 D-rings. Twelve of them have bungee cords attached for storage. The rest of the D-rings are for your leash, kayak seat, etc.

It has four action mounts for your gear. Two of them are at the front and two mini ones at the back. Now you can bring your rod holder, camera and other essentials.

SUP Board Accessories

It is hard to outdo iRocker here. They offer quality boards with complete SUP bundles at unbeatable prices. And even with their cheapest boards, the accessories are remarkable. The iRocker Cruiser SUP package includes a paddle, pump, bag, and a leash.

irocker cruiser package

a. Pump

The pump is a twin chamber and makes the inflation process 100% faster. We are hopeful that someday iSUPs will come with electric pumps. But for now, we appreciate this manual iRocker pump that makes inflating less painful. It has also been upgraded. The hose is more flexible and thicker.

iRocker is offering an optional electric pump at a discount when you buy your Cruiser.

b. Paddle

You will receive a carbon blend paddle with a nylon blade. This is one of the best deals in this price range. It is very lightweight. You won’t have a reason to go looking for an upgrade after a few months. It can be your everyday paddle.

The blade is sleeker and more attractive. It is color-coded to the SUP’s color.

The paddle is adjustable and collapsible into three pieces for travel.

c. Backpack

You will love the new backpack design. It has a bungee storage area at the front for your wet towel or gear.

There are mesh pockets on either side of the bag and more zipper pockets underneath them. Another zipper pocket has been added at the top of the backpack and it fits the iRocker electric pump. You will never run out of places to put all your SUP stuff.

The shoulder and waist straps are padded and the bag has a carry handle at the top.

The new backpack design is compatible with a wheel tray (available at iRocker). You can convert your Cruiser bag into a wheeled backpack.

iRocker offers other optional accessories for the Cruiser. They include:

  • Kayak seat cushion
  • Kayak kit
  • Fishing rod holder
  • Cooler deck pad
  • Cupholder
  • Selfie stick
  • Camera mount
  • Cell phone holder
  • Electric pump
  • Speakers
  • Shoulder carry strap

What Users Are Saying

It’s always good to know what other paddlers are saying about a paddleboard. They have used it and their feedback is genuine.

After trying out SUP yoga, one newbie fell in love with it. So they wanted to get a board of their own. In their search, they stumbled upon the iRocker Cruiser. They went on Reddit to ask for other paddlers’ opinions.

Sunkissedguy says that he got the All Around while his wife got the Cruiser. They liked the iRocker deal. Another Redditor responds to him, saying that he also got the Cruiser and he is happy with it. The boards are tough and track well. He recommends the iRocker Cruiser to the guy that posted the question.

Further below, a paddler comments that he has had the Cruiser for two summers and there is nothing to complain about. He loves the iRocker customer service too.

Someone else was wondering whether the iRocker Cruiser is worth the price. Although they wanted to spend about $500, the Cruiser kept popping up.

Siblita responds saying that they own the Cruiser and it is worth the money. It is easy to attach fins and the board is tough and lightweight. They also love the paddle. It’s high quality and you won’t get that with cheaper iSUPs. Their only complaint is that the backpack doesn’t have wheels.

In a reply under that, someone comments that you can get a roller tray and convert the bag into a wheeled backpack.

Phantom3se was torn between the iRocker Cruiser and Body Glove Performer. He says the Cruiser seems to have everything he is looking for (and much more) but he is still hesitant. So he asks other Redditors to weigh in on the SUP subreddit.

A user says that he got the Cruiser for his girlfriend as a Valentine’s Day gift and it is amazing. He owns the Isle Explorer. In his opinion, the Cruiser can handle two paddlers better than the Body Glove because of its shape. The new package is also unbeatable and it has a two-year warranty.

The paddler goes on to say that the Cruiser is stable and durable. He loves the ultra lightweight paddle. He complains about the lack of a front grab handle. (But iRocker fixed this in the 2020 upgrade).

Jenny is so happy she bought the iRocker Cruiser. It is comfortable and beautiful. She enjoys paddling with her kids and they love it.

Alana wanted to make sure she was getting the right iSUP. She spent a year researching and the Cruiser caught her eye. She regrets not buying it earlier. The iRocker team was amazing and they answered all her questions. She prefers to use the electric pump but says that the hand pump is great too. The paddleboard is well-made and super solid when inflated.

Alternatives

iRocker Cruiser Vs iRocker All Around 11

irocker all around 11 2021 model beginner paddle board

The iRocker All Around measures 11’ x 32” x 6”. It weighs 26 pounds and has a weight capacity of 435 pounds.

It has 20 D-rings, 4 action mounts, and two cargo storage areas.

The paddleboard features iRocker’s triple-layer composite technology.

When you compare it to the Cruiser, the main difference is the size. It is slightly longer and narrower.

You can expect the All Around to be faster and the Cruiser to be more stable.

However, the differences will be barely noticeable.

They received almost the same upgrades in 2020 and you can get both in six colors.

The iRocker All Around deck pad is larger, extending below the inflation valve.

iRocker Cruiser Vs Isle Explorer

isle explorer paddle board

The Explorer measures 11’6 x 32” x 6”. It weighs 24 pounds and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. The board is constructed using military-grade PVC, single layer. It features a tri-fin system, with a removable center fin. There are two bungee storage areas: a six-point at the front and a four-point at the back. It comes with three grab handles and two center D-rings.

As you can see from the measurements, the Explorer is longer and narrower than the Cruiser. The shape is likely to make it faster. It comes as a complete SUP package with a carbon fiber shaft paddle. The accessories are of high quality.

While the Explorer is a fantastic paddleboard, no doubt, there are several areas in which the Cruiser is better.

The iRocker Cruiser has action mounts and more D-rings. You get six color options. The Isle Explorer offers two. The Cruiser features a triple-layer PVC construction and can handle 100 pounds more than the Explorer. With the Cruiser, all fins are removable. You can only detach the central fin on the Isle SUP.

iRocker Cruiser Vs Atoll Inflatable Paddleboard

atoll paddle board standing up

The Atoll 11 is one of the most popular inflatable paddle boards. It measures 11’ x 32” x 6”. It is built using laminated dual-layer PVC and Korean Dropstitch technology. The board weighs only 21 pounds and has a weight capacity of 400 pounds. (The manufacturer has successfully tested it at over 700 pounds). It comes as a complete SUP package— which includes a carbon fiberglass paddle. There are three fins and the side fins are not removable.

The Atoll SUP board is longer and narrower. Expect it to have slightly better speed compared to the Cruiser.

The iRocker Cruiser offers six color options, with some of them being quite bright. The Atoll colors (four options) are muted. The side fins on the Atoll are not detachable and there is only one bungee storage area.

Both the Atoll and the Cruiser are awesome paddleboards, made by reputable companies. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

If you want better speed and chilled colors, go with the Atoll. If you prefer to have enough attachment points, the Cruiser will be a great option.

Conclusion

The iRocker Cruiser is one of the best inflatable paddleboards in the market. The construction is outstanding and it is super durable. The SUP package comprises of quality accessories. Its features make it suitable for fishing, yoga, a family day out, and pretty much any other SUP activity. The 60-day money-back guarantee and two-year warranty show confidence on the manufacturer’s side.
